If you have been directed here, you need to continue to my new and improved blog.

i know, i shouldnt complain

My Monday to-do list was put off a day due to lots of things that needed to get accomplished. Needless to say, I have gotten a good start on getting my homework, work items and little things like laundry worked on yesterday. Yet, there still never seems to be enough time during the day. Even though I find myself not sleeping until super late, I am not using that time to get things done. I just toss and turn in bed, hoping to fall asleep soon. I dont work a full day today, so I will be able to get some more things finished. Not to mention, my better half works 10-12 hour days, 6 days a week...when we see each other, we are both dead tired. And then when we do have some time to hang out we have a bunch of family things to get finished.
Is this not too pretty?I want him and I to take a vacation to the middle of nowhere. Even if it is for two days. I need some time with my mister. I need to have long nights of talking wrapped in plaid blankets and late morning laughs after sleeping in. He really needs one...probably more than I do. Either way, I am starting to get that feeling that nothing matters. Almost like you are dreaming, so you dont really feel anything. You just go through the every day motions. It is all some depressing, mundane movie. Something Zach Braff would write, and young adults would go see it and say, "That's how I want my life to be." Yet, they don't realize that when you actually get to the point that you are living it, nothing matters. And it isn't so cool anymore.

its a party!

Yesterday was my dad's birthday. Although this may be a biased opinion, my dad is a great guy. He works really hard all the time to give all four of his kids everything they could ask for. Even when we try to grow up and be independent, he has a hard time because he doesn't watch us to make mistakes as we learn. It is annoying sometimes, and I bump heads with him a lot. However, I couldn't have asked for a better daddy.
In honor of his birthday and his best buddies, they are one day apart, the wives are having a joint birthday party tonight. There is something about going to parties with an older crowd that make me feel like a real grown-up. Not to mention the food, drinks and converstations tend to be more rewarding. :0) ANNNDDD, it just so happens that I will get to spend the evening with Katie. I am super excited because I haven't seen her or her wonderful family in about a month.

hey shorty...

Although this is not a throwback video, I have come to love this guy Bangs so much, I must share. He is from Sudan and is now on the mission to show what a "gentleman gangster" is truly like. He has another song called "facebook." Both of them are glorious and catchy. I find myself singing them all the time. And then upset because they are stuck in my head. Enjoy!

beach cruiser wanted

There just something about leaves changing colors, jacket weather and it becoming darker quicker that makes me want to go on bike rides. I love riding my bike. However, beach cruisers are magical and have such a great vintage feel to them, I cannot help but be in love. The saddest part is that I live no where near the ocean or beach or anything with sand. My beach cruise, if I ever get one...hello christmas!...will just have to handle the concrete jungles of Louisville instead.

ode to my yogurt

i have a new apprecipation for yogurt. i have never really liked the taste of it, but knew all about the benefits to it. don't get me wrong, i love, love, love frozen yogurt...but not every morning for breakfast. not to mention, i doubt the benefits to anything that taste like ice cream. so, i forced myself to start eating it, hoping that one day i might be able to tolerant the taste. i tried different brands, various types of yogurt in those brands, (lite, whipped, fruit at the bottom) and then would try many different flavors in those brands. boy oh boy do i love yogurt now. it only took a year to discover which ones i should stray away from and which ones i want to have on hand all the time. i dont feel like i can start my morning off right without some good ol' strawberry banana lite kroger brand yogurt. (thats my product name drop for the day!) sometimes i crave it so much during the day, i make a smoothie for dinner using plain yogurt with some berries or fruit. all this talk is gonna have me making myself one tonight with blueberries and apples. yummy!

another week, another cup of coffee

I'm having one of those mornings. No matter how much coffee i drink, i just cannot get it together. Source Furthermore, my days are becoming a bit more hetic. This week is not terribly busy, yet it will be enough to keep me awake for looooong hours.
-discuss the ending of true blood. i just started watching this year. which means, i didn't have to wait an ENTIRE year for the next season. however, Eastbound and Down comes back soon; this will hold me over until then. not to mention my bbc show ideal is on and this new broadwalk empire. i dont watch much tv, but the shows i do are addiction.
-figure out a budget for the next two months. my car insurance bill came. yikes!
-work on reading my "how christ said the first mass" for my 4 goals
-possibly start to work on some of my other 4 goals...like that yoga one...
-finish a few household things: upload more music for my ipod, tidy up a bit, laundry, cooking for dinners next week
-im changing my hair color on friday! i havent died my hair in years, and then this summer i thought i would try being a blonde. i liked it. but now i am going to try to be a red head-ish. well see.

any busy week plans for you?

blah blah

I am stuck spending a few hours at my universities law library. My mister is stuck working til 7 tonight. The weather is gloomy, so it is a perfect day to stay inside, watch movies and drink warm beverages. Maybe I can have that day tomorrow....or next week. I would love a day like that with him soon.

Throwback Thursday

This morning on the way to work, I just happened to hear last week's throwback Thursday song! It made me smile and sing along....loudly. I finally got to open my windows last night and turn the ac off. Something I have been longing for for days. I digress. I have this uncontrollable love for bad foreign pop music. It is actually a little embarrassing. Shhh... Today, in honor of my closet love of that genre, I have B*Witched's "C'est La Vie." This song makes me want to wear neon colors, have a slumber party and make a dance routine with my girlfriends. Enjoy!

08 September 2010

Today is a special day for people that have been effect by abuse or sucide. Today is "To write love on her arms." For more information see the website.

Wednesday Wants

Fall's biggest must have to blend classic femininity and toughness together is a military inspired jacket. I love to add edge to my light, flowy dresses or spice to my casual work clothes by pairing the evergreen, navy adorn with metal knit-knack jackets to my outfit. Not to mention, they look great dressed down with a pair of your favorite worn out jeans and tee for the fall days of pumpkin picking.

Football seasons

Tomorrow marks the start of football season for the college I love, University of Louisville. My college is part of the Big East and does okay in football, watch out for basketball though! This year's first game is against a home state rival, University of Kentucky. If you know anything about college sports you know this is one of the big rivals, minus Duke and UK in basketball. Families are divided, friend's feelings are hurt and there is a ton of shit talking. I couldn't be more excited for the game tomorrow. I will be cheering on my Cards and our new coach Charlie Strong. For me, this could not be a better weekend starter for labor day. Enjoy your long weekend!

Throwback Thursday

I want to add a new feature to my daily blog updates. It shall be called Throwback Thursdays. This will feature a music video from a long forgot, but very catchy song. To embark on this new journey, I am picking Mr. Big's "To Be with you."

Why my boyfriend is better than yours :0)

Weeeellll, maybe in my eyes. My Mister started training for a new job today. He got off work and called me to tell me about it. I was just getting home myself and started to boil eggs. I have this need for deviled eggs in my life right now. We hung up after a quick, "hey, how's it going" converstation. He told me he'd call me when he got home. Here's the rest of the story,

(cellphone rings, [singsong voice], "I want to make you smile whenever you are sad...")

Me: "I know you aren't home yet, it's been five minutes since we spoke."

Mister: "I know, I was going to stop by because I pass right by your house, but I missed the exit not thinking clearly. So I am not stopping by now."

Me: "You called me and got my hopes up. Now I am all sad."

Mister: "My bad. I'll call you when I get home."

Me: "Ok, I love you. Bye."

Mister: "I love you too. Bye."

(I proceed to go to my reading. Until 5 minutes later I hear a knock on my door.)

You guessed it! It was my Mister. We chit-chatted for a bit, ate some yummy arbys and then he sent me on my way to school with a kiss. Award for best boyfriend of the day goes to my Mister.

I want it bad...

Scarves....I am completely made happy by this little bit of jazziness that adds color to your fall wadrobe. All the different styles, color and ways to wear your scarf keeps everyone on their toes to check out your outfit for that day. There is only about 21 or so in my closet....and that's after I cleaned them out last winter. :0) I am sure I will be adding a lot more vintage, silk or knitted scarves to my collection this season. Enjoy this bit of my favorite types!
